Wolf and Willow -
"A delicate, tremulous piece of balladry that could only have been recorded in Melbourne" - Beat Magazine
"So delicate and heartstring-tugging." – Uppy Chatterjee, Triple J
"Wolf and Willow have been able to create the modern, tranquil sound that their audience adores." – Amplify
Fresh from a run of shows and a writing retreat in the US, 'Falling' marks the first instalment in a trilogy of new singles from the band – crafted alongside producer Hayden Calnin (Didirri, Riley Pierce, Harrison Storm) and mastered by Steve Smart of Studios 301 (Tash Sultana, Cub Sport, Pierce Brothers).
Adorned with lush strings and a career-best performance from vocalist Tim Richardson, 'Falling' marks a bold step towards a more sophisticated folk sound. A song that explores moments of joy within a flurry of chaos, 'Falling' is about finding the eye of the storm and waltzing inside of it.
"Falling marks new territory for Wolf and Willow," says Richardson. "From the ground up, a new writing style meant exploring our music in an unfamiliar way. Thankfully, it's come about quite naturally – a progression and stepping stone towards what's to come."
Wolf and Willow have gone from strength to strength since the release of their debut EP Born to Be in 2016, with the lead singles 'Seaside' and 'Chase The Sun' amassing over 1,000,000 streams collectively. Off the back of appearances at Patchewollock Festival, Nimbin Blues and Roots Festival, Joshua Festival California, Tin Roof Festival Nashville, an east coast tour, and a run of intimate house concerts – with a follow up single on the horizon they're now heading into their biggest year yet.
